NAVER Data Center GAK Signage
NAVER Data Center GAK Chuncheon is a ‘Repository of Data’—a space where human records coexist with nature. As NAVER’s first eco-friendly data center, it was designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency. Inspired by ‘Janggyeonggak,’ the historic depository of the Tripitaka Koreana, the project reflects the profound value of NAVER’s vast knowledge and information through a solemn and disciplined tone.
We developed a signage system that remains faithful to its essential functions while modernizing the symbolic elements of Janggyeonggak to project the unique identity of Data Center GAK. To align with the center's eco-friendly architecture, we selected materials and processing methods that minimize environmental footprint and highlight the raw, natural textures of the materials throughout the production process. The concept of ‘accumulated information and data’ is translated into a refined visual language using square structures and rhythmic patterns of dots and lines. This approach expresses the stability and systematic order of the data center in a solid and sophisticated manner.
